Heather was drawn to physiotherapy out of a desire to understand the inner workings of the human body and a need to make a difference in the lives of others. She puts a strong emphasis on open communication and is passionate about patient empowerment. Having completed her Honors Bachelor of Science at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC in 2008, Heather went on to a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON from which she graduated in 2012.
Since graduating she has completed courses in taping, soft tissue release, acupuncture, and is currently working her way through the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy levels. In 2014 she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher-training course and is a registered member of the Canadian Yoga Alliance. She is qualified perform office ergonomic assessments: to assess workstations and employees and then give recommendations for changes in position and equipment that promote a safe workplace.
She finds ongoing education to be both essential to successful physiotherapy practice and personally fulfilling. She also loves to stay active by running, practicing yoga, riding horses, traveling, cooking, and skiing.
