B.H.K.  MPT Registered Physiotherapist

Danielle was born and raised in Kelowna, where her love for sports and fitness began at a young age. She dedicated ten years to competitive trampoline gymnastics representing Team Canada around the world on numerous occasions. Danielle graduated from UBCO with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics and continued on at Western University where she obtained her Masters of Physical Therapy.

Danielle is committed to helping all individuals achieve their goals, whether it’s recovering from an injury, looking to make the body stronger, or returning to high level sports. She strives to build meaningful connections with others and uses a combination of manual therapy and personalized exercise programs to create treatment plans that are tailored to each client.

Dedicated to ongoing education and professional growth Danielle is always striving to broaden her clinical expertise and provide the highest level of care to her clients. Her specific interests include manual therapy and women’s health.

Outside the clinic, Danielle maintains an active and balanced lifestyle. She enjoys staying healthy and strong through fitness classes, yoga, pilates, hiking and most recently pickleball.

OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL THERAPY

Ryan Mercier

Osteopathic manual practitioner

Hi, I’m Ryan Mercier — an experienced Osteopathic Manual Practitioner who has recently relocated to Kelowna from Ontario. I hold a four-year Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Psychology from Laurentian University and a four-year Master’s in Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy.

Growing up, I was always active and involved in sports, which naturally sparked my passion for human movement and biomechanics. This curiosity eventually evolved into a career focused on helping people move, function, and feel better by restoring balance and alignment to the body’s structure.

Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide variety of people — from children and seniors to athletes, desk workers, and tradespeople — and have seen consistent results across all systems of the body. Whether you're dealing with musculoskeletal pain like sciatica, TMJ dysfunction, or chronic back pain; headaches or migraines; preparing for or recovering from surgery; managing digestive issues like IBS, bloating, reflux, or constipation; or navigating respiratory, hormonal, circulatory, lymphatic, or nervous system challenges — osteopathy offers a hands-on approach that supports your body’s natural ability to heal and self-regulate.

Osteopathy uses differential diagnosis to find the root cause of your symptoms, focusing on how one issue can lead to another. By treating the underlying cause, rather than just masking the symptoms, we help restore balance and support your body’s natural healing process.

Additionally, osteopathic treatments are covered under most benefit packages, making it easier for you to access the care you need.

I’m excited to be part of the Kelowna community and look forward to welcoming you to the clinic.

MASSAGE THERAPISTS

AkelaDerksen_1_edited.jpg

Akela Derksen

Registered MassageTherapist

After attending university in Ontario, Akela relocated back to beautiful British Columbia to complete her Registered Massage Therapy diploma at Okanagan College of Massage Therapy and graduated in 2019. As her knowledge of human anatomy and physiology grew so did her passion for helping clients reach their health and wellness goals. Akela also has a background in personal training which brings an interactive approach to her treatments.

Akela deeply believes that movement is medicine and that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Her treatment style uses a sports massage approach with techniques such as hydro therapy, PNF stretching, myofascial release, and Swedish massage to help improve muscle imbalances and biomechanics, as well as promote tissue healing. She also uses body awareness and therapeutic exercise to help her patients understand the mind-body connection.

Akela and her husband own a hobby farm outside Kelowna and she spends most her free time gardening, looking after her chickens, and exploring the many hiking trails in the area with her dog, Franklyn. After spending time away from BC, Akela can safely say she never plans on leaving the amazing Okanagan!

PILATES INSTRUCTORS

Malrie Stratford

Certified Pilates Instructor, Pilates Team Manager

Neu Pilates Teacher Trainer

Having completed her Pilates, anatomy, and active rehab training with Neumovement, Malrie's teaching style focuses on alignment and activation, and she truly love what she does. She is incredibly grateful to be able to call this my work and enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals, including those in pre/post-surgery, general injury rehab, and those seeking mind-body connection, alignment, stability, and overall strength. Malrie also enjoy helping athletes improve their performance and address instabilities. Outside the studio, her passions include everything related to dogs, as she loves talking about my fur kids Bentley and Piper. She is also skilled in cooking and baking, having obtained my Red Seal in culinary arts, and I believe that simplicity often makes the best dishes. Additionally, I find joy in activities like yoga, hiking, and indulging in the good things the Okanagan region has to offer, like wine.

Abby -Kelowna_edited.jpg

Abby Beer

Certified Pilates Instructor and kinesiologist

I am originally from Chilliwack but have lived in the Okanagan for half of my life.

Since I was young, I have loved movement and exercise which led me to pursue a Bachelors of Human Kinetics from UBCO with a focus on clinical populations. I am most passionate about helping people feel strong and capable in their bodies!

I grew up playing all kinds of sports from rugby to ballet, which fuelled my interest in what functionality looks like for different people! Because of that, I focus on individuality in rehabilitation and strength. Nowadays, I like to spend all my free time on the water when it’s warm, but I have also been trying to embrace the winter by learning to ski, which has proven to be more difficult than I thought!

Outside of Goods and the studio, Lauren loves spending time with her tight-knit community, hanging out with her two spirited working-breed dogs, and getting lost in murder-mystery audiobooks with a heavy dose of Taylor Swift on repeat.

Holly Ward

Certified Pilates Instructor

I grew up in the Okanagan and quickly returned as I realized how lucky we are to call this place home. I originally moved to Calgary and attended SAIT to pursue a career in health care, which has provided me with such a valuable background about the body. My love for physical wellness built over the years, and when I was first introduced to Pilates in 2020 I knew that was it for me. It’s changed my life and I’m passionate about the opportunity to share that! To encourage others to continuously work towards being the best version of themselves.

Vanessa Gill

Kinesiologist

Vanessa brings a blend of knowledge, compassion, and authentic enthusiasm for anatomy to

the NeuMovement team.  She graduated with her Business Administration Diploma in 2018,

followed by her Bachelor of Human Kinetics from UBC Okanagan in 2024.  She is currently

completing her Pilates training with NeuMovement, expanding her toolkit for helping clients

move with strength, balance, and intention.

With a lifelong fascination for how incredible and resilient the human body is, Vanessa has

always been drawn to the deeper “why” behind movement, healing, and wellness.  Growing up

as a competitive soccer player, she experienced several concussions, which ultimately sparked

her commitment to pursuing a career where she could support others on their own journeys

back to feeling strong, grounded, and empowered.  She is especially passionate about holistic

healing and hopes to integrate more mind-body therapies into her practice in the future.

Vanessa’s goal as a practitioner is to help people feel better in their bodies; to move with

confidence, find balance in their daily lives, and become more in tune with their physical and

energetic well-being.

Outside the studio, Vanessa is all about exploring life’s joys. She’ll take any opportunity to jump

on an airplane and discover a new destination, and as a true foodie, she loves trying new

restaurants and cooking for her loved ones.  She appreciates fine wines, time spent in nature,

and soaking up every bit of sunshine.
