Our Foundational NEU Team
LARA YANIK
Founder of NEU Movement,
NEU Spine and NEU Pilates Teacher Training. Certified Pilates Instructor.
Lara's soul purpose is to inspire, heal and connect people through movement. After a shoulder injury, the doctor recommended Pilates: it changed the way she felt in her body and it changed her life! She became a teacher in 2003 in Vancouver, BC. Two years later, full of excitement and passion to share she started her first company in a small town in British Columbia, Canada.
She then went on to open two more Pilates Studios in Interior BC, in 2008 and 2012. In 2011, Lara went to a course on injuries - and ironically - got injured. She then met Jen Gulley, her current partner and physiotherapist at NEU, they decided to change the movement and rehabilitation game. They founded the "integration", an experience with a 30 minute physiotherapist treatment followed by a 30min Pilates private where the instructor collaborates with the physiotherapist to customize a program that is perfect and unique for the client. This changed the company to NEU Movement Pilates and Physiotherapy.
In 2014 Lara expanded and started interacting with more modalities including yoga, massage and chiropractic. During these years, Lara created a product called NEUspine ... it helped her clients perform specific movements more safely in studio and home programs. NEUspine was picked up by www.pilates.com in San Francisco and continues to sell all over the world!

Lara And Jen then decided to create the NEU Pilates Teacher Training ... this course teaches our "secret sauce" of years of experience integrating physiotherapists, Pilates instructors. Team-taught by a physiotherapist and Pilates teacher-trainer this course is guaranteed to give you tonnes of new tricks and concepts to help take your clients to a whole new level! Lara absolutely LOVES these projects and is excited to share all that she has learned in teaching, life and business.
JEN GULLEY
Founder of NEU Movement and NEU Pilates Teacher Training. Registered Physiotherapist BSc PT, FCAMPT, MCPA
Jen embarked on her journey of becoming a physiotherapist in 2000 and completed her degree in 2005 at the University of Alberta.
After working in Alberta for a few years and travelling the world she landed in Vernon, BC where she continued her career. Not too long after settling in Vernon, she heard word of an amazing Pilates studio in town. She connected with Lara, her current business partner, and learned the value and life changing effects that Pilates can have on the body. From there a light bulb went off for both of them and the integration of physiotherapy and Pilates was born.

Lara invited Jen to join NEUmovement in 2012 and the evolution of the company started to grow and morph into what it is today. While working on the vision of the company, Jen also completed her Fellowship of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy - one of the highest achievements in orthopaedic physiotherapy. She also completed a year long course called the Integrated Systems Model which significantly influenced the foundation of the NEU Pilates Teacher Training.
Jen’s soul purpose is to inspire, empower, and teach others how to heal themselves. It’s a dream come true for Jen to be able to draw from many years of experience and co-create a Pilates teacher training that does just that. This course will not only change your life and body but it will give you the tools to teach and inspire others to do the same.
